Besides, he's very much similar to Alois if you think hard. They both have been through difficult time, they lost beloved people and suffered a lot. They had to deal with a demon to escape their situation. It's just that each one has his own way to think and act. Ciel doesn't show his emotions unlike Alois who accept to cry in front of Claude and go as far as to beg him and open his heart to him. Ciel is more introverted while Alois is more emotive. Ciel wants revenge and Alois wants to be loved. They may have differents wishes but deep inside they're pretty much the same.
Oh god, I just noticed I wrote all this. Well sorry but it's a subject I always love to talk about ^^'.
Lol, I see, and I honestly do SERIOUSLY like Ciel. As you said, he's a very deep character, which is something that most things I've read have lacked. They do indeed have a lot in common, and that's what brought them together, most likely. I prefer Ciel over Alois in most cases, because Ciel seems to not be as spoiled-brat-like as Alois.

I also have a preference for Ciel beause well he's the original charcter and because he's more developed which unfortunately wasn't the case for Alois. But it was because the anime staff wanted to rush things. They could have worked on him... but NO they had to make him appear in only 5 episodes and die !! >____<
